Hello and Happy Monday! I want to know what happened to the weekend?!? I know what happened to mine—A silent retreat weekend in New York! People shake their heads at me when I tell them what I was doing, then the fifty million questions start. Yes, it’s absolute silence and quiet…which means no talking. Yes, people do this voluntarily. It is fantabulous! I call it my spiritual face life! I spent a lot of time focused on art projects, and doing the group meditation. I now have a double sided vision board to manifest on. And I had an idea spark for a children’s book–uh oh..gotta watch that creativity character because it’s already developed into a series of books and the first one is almost done. Normally, my humble adobe is like a sanctuary…minus the cantankerous critters that reside here with me, so I am quite used to the silence. Unless I decide to blast the ITunes, then it’s a dance party to the nth degree. I’m sure the folks walking by the house wonder what in the world when they hear my 80’s jam, along with the combo of some country and rap, plus gospel, the belly dance tunes, and my yoga jive blaring. Keep life interesting!
The Flower Fairies Card of the week, Flirt, was selected by my sister, Cortney, who is celebrating her birthday today. I think it fits her personality…tehehe! Younger sisters can certainly be a pain in the ass…so can older ones for that matter, but I do love my siblings. I think we middle children are pretty close to perfect…and that’s my story and I’m sticking to it! So back to flirting. I had the funniest experience last week after I wrote my romance blog. I headed to the store, on the search for this hair stuff that I found that really works and all of a sudden my normal store wasn’t going to carry anymore. Grrrr–so irritating! Anyways, I found everything that I didn’t need while I was at the store (no hair product unfortunately), and was standing in line with my pretty little rose plant. My Valentine’s Day present to myself! An older gentleman got in line behind me and scanned what I was buying. He grinned when he saw me holding the roses and says “Oh, you shouldn’t have!” After a minute, he asked me where I found them, and off he went looking for them. He comes back with a bounce in his step and carrying a beautiful orchid that was huge! I gave him thumbs up and a smile, and he says with a cheeky grin, “I’m going to get lucky tonight!” After about two seconds, he realized what he said, and turned bright red and then wouldn’t look at me. Meanwhile, I’m laughing, and internally wishing him good luck on his endeavor and also wishing I had my business cards handy to tell him to check out my romance blog I wrote earlier in the day. I contemplated letting him know that orchids mean fertility, but didn’t want to aggravate his embarrassment…but I did get a good laugh about it!
