Passion….hmmmm…what does that bring to mind? Well, I had my annual womanly doctor appointment today and it certainly was a reminder of the absence of a certain area of passion in my life. Sigh! And then, I’m heading to the store and the radio reports that female ferrets die if they go for a year without any hanky panky. Seriously?!? Thank God I’m not a ferret! And who does studies like that?!? Passion is an interesting topic, because many people relate it back to the birds and bees…well I often do too, just because my mind tends to stay in the gutter most of the time. But, really, what makes your heart sing? Even hum a little? Or belt it out like Tina Turner rocking out? Apparently I’m not to be belting it out, because one of my critters chases me through the house meowing, and bites me when I’m singing–damn cat! If we all pursued our passions, it would be interesting to see what the world would be like–pursuing mine makes me happy, excited, enthusiastic, and full of energy! I signed contracts today to be presenting at Lily Dale in summer 2018—whoop whoop!!! Another emotional high to coast through the winter on!
On a serious note, this card was inspired by someone special–a man who was a mentor to me. When I decided to go back to school to become a minister, he shared with me a message he received from spirit where he was given a red rose. Throughout my schooling, he always took the time and inquired about my journey in the learning process. He told me when I talked about it, my face lit up, and said “Brooke, this is your passion”. He was totally supportive and encouraging about it. Sadly, he passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly, way too soon, and doing this card was a huge release in my grieving. And, he was right. Doing the spiritual work is my passion! We were at the Holistic Health and Healing Fair this weekend in North Olmsted, meeting and connecting with people, and sharing what Engaging the Spirit is all about. So much fun! And the comments! My favorite is “You can’t not laugh, it’s just fun!” My sister was helping me out for the weekend, and being a typical sister, began rolling her eyes at me after about the third compliment. Tehehe! The aftermath of a good show means my kitchen looks like an episode from Hoarders, I’m exhausted and making plans for the next event, and still on an emotional high from the weekend! And feeling grateful I’m not a ferret! Let your passion bloom!
